There are currently 43 members, made up of the Chief Executives from UK University Hospitals, who meet 3 times a year to discuss key issues. One of these meetings is held jointly with the Medical Schools Council and focuses on joint issues and action plans. In addition to the Chief Executives, the Chairs of the affiliated sub-committees also attend Association meetings.

In addition there is also an Executive Committee made up of 11 representatives from the Association, including the Chairs of the affiliate groups and the Convenor of the Chairs group. The Executive Committee take forward additional work on behalf of the Association.

The work of the Association is supported by the AUKUH Secretariat. The Secretariat supports the Association taking forward the key issues and responding to relevant consultations. Currently, the Secretariat encompasses an Executive Director, two Senior Policy Officers, a Policy Officer, a Communications Officer and an Executive Assistant.
